Sweet and timid Edith is a shaded red Miniature Dachshund who started life living in a breeding kennels. Edith is naturally a quiet and shy girl and takes time to warm up to people, but once she gets to know you she quickly will seek out your attention with a happy little dance and a tiny bark. Edith would like to live with other laid back and gentle dogs where she can cuddle up under a blanket. Edith is 9 years old and is Kennel Club registered, however she will not leave with her paperwork as our priority is health and temperament over titles. As a slightly older girl she is looking for a kind and relaxed home where she can slowly come out of her shell and enjoy a relaxed pace of life. Edith would prefer not to live with children or boisterous dogs.
Edith is spayed, up to date with vaccinations and flea and worm treatment and has been vet checked. Please make yourself familiar with the needs of Dachshunds and their requirements. They are a very popular breed of dog but are not always easy and can be prone to health issues.
We are currently very busy and rescue spaces are extremely limited – PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU HAVE HOLIDAYS BOOKED OR ARE NOT IN A POSITION TO FINALISE THE ADOPTION IN GOOD TIME – we have a huge waiting list which we are constantly juggling as we hate turning away dogs in need. Please tell us about and breed experience on your application form. Whilst a loving home is SO important for a rescue dog, they will also need structure, routine, boundaries and long term commitment.
THE DOG YOU MEET AND TAKE HOME MAY NOT BE THE DOG YOU HAVE IN 6 MONTHS TIME – THEY CAN BE NERVOUS AND SHUT DOWN, TAKING TIME TO GAIN CONFIDENCE AND SHOW THEIR TRUE PERSONALITIES – THEY MAY PUSH BOUNDARIES AND BECOME HARD WORK BEFORE SETTLING FULLY. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU AREN’T COMPLETELY COMMITTED TO ADOPTING AND DOING EVERYTHING TO MAKE THE PROCESS WORK.
