Keith and Maxine the Dachshunds
Keith and Maxine are a bonded pair of Dachshunds who were surrendered from a family due to their new baby being allergic to dogs. Keith is the larger boy and the more laid back of the two, Maxine is smaller and more outgoing but they are both very sweet and gentle. They have lived together their whole lives and are very happy together. They are in foster with other dogs including Dachshunds and get on great with others. Keith needs Maxine more than she needs him, but we don’t want to split them up if we can help it. Keith is a slow burner and isn’t as forthcoming as his sister – Maxine is the life and soul and loves everyone and everything.
They are both neutered, fully vaccinated, flea and wormed and have been vet checked. Maxine had a skin and ear infection on arrival and has been having extended treatment with antibiotics, it is clearing up nicely and they are now ready to find their new home, hopefully together.

Known medical conditions – none for Keith, Maxine has been treated for a skin and ear infection

Live with other dogs – yes with other small and gentle dogs
Good with cats – not tested
Good with kids – Keith and Maxine have lived with children before, they are in a child free home in foster. They could live with older dog savvy children
Travelling in the car – good
Housetrained – yes, but may relapse with a change of circumstances
Lead walking – good
Recall – not tested
Crate trained – they are not crated in foster, but had been in their previous home
Current diet – twice a day. They eat a mixture of wet and dry food, no known allergies
