Rodger the Miniature Dachshund
Handsome Rodger is a four year old Miniature Dachshund boy who was previously a stud dog, but now castrated and ready to retire. Rodger is super affectionate and very laid back, he is used to living with a large group of dogs and we would like him to have a doggy friend or two in his new home. Rodger has been extensively health tested prior to being used as a stud and we have been provided with all his paperwork. Rodger is also KC registered (paperwork not provided on adoption). Rodger has had problems with his teeth like a lot of small dogs, he has had two dentals (one by us) and now only has a handful of teeth left. It doesn’t affect him in any way and he still eats everything. Rodger loves to get on your knee for a cuddle and he is very mild mannered – a total gentleman.
We have restarted his vaccinations as they were not up to date and a second one will be due by your own vet in two weeks.
We are currently very busy and rescue spaces are extremely limited – Rodger was castrated on 27th July 2023 and priority will be to be local adopters who would be happy to allow Rodger to finish recovering from his surgery with them. His follow up vet check and removal of stitches would not incur any cost to his adopting owners – this would be due on 7th August at our vet in Southport – alternatively they can be removed by your own vet locally.
PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU HAVE HOLIDAYS BOOKED OR ARE NOT IN A POSITION TO FINALISE THE ADOPTION IN GOOD TIME – we have a huge waiting list which we are constantly juggling as we hate turning away dogs in need. Please tell us about and breed experience on your application form.
