Luna the Miniature Dachshund

Luna the Miniature Dachshund

Luna is a smooth haired chocolate and tan miniature Dachshund girl who has been used for breeding, but now surrendered to us for her retirement. Luna is a chunky and confident girl who has slotted into foster like she’s always lived here. Like a lot Dachshunds, she loves to get all the fuss and attention and is already like velcro with her foster Mum, she would happily nudge all her new friends out of the way to be first in the queue for a stroke. Luna’s favourite past times include cuddles on your knee, munching treats and going out in the car for adventures. Luna could be an only girl or live with other laid back dogs who are happy to let her be the star of the show. We have noticed she can get a little jealous if she has to share her humans too much, but we feel it could be managed by a confident owner. Luna is a happy and friendly girl and greets everyone with a waggy tail.

Luna is Kennel Club registered but we will not release her paperwork, as long as she is happy and healthy that is our main concern. We have restarted her vaccinations as they were not up to date and a second one will be due by your own vet in two weeks.

We are currently very busy and rescue spaces are extremely limited – Luna is being neutered tomorrow, Tuesday 25th July 2023 and priority will be to be local adopters who would be happy to allow Luna to finish recovering from her spay surgery with them. Her follow up vet check and removal of stitches would not incur any cost to her adopting owners – this would be due on 4th August at our vet in Southport.

PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU HAVE HOLIDAYS BOOKED OR ARE NOT IN A POSITION TO FINALISE THE ADOPTION IN GOOD TIME – we have a huge waiting list which we are constantly juggling as we hate turning away dogs in need. Please tell us about and breed experience on your application form.
