Stuart the Labrador
Stuart is a 15 month old stunning charcoal grey coloured labrador boy. Stuart came to us after his owner’s circumstances changed and they could no longer keep him. He does come from working dog lines, therefore will need a confident and capable owner who is prepared to put in time and effort with his training. Stuart is very friendly and his tail doesn’t stop wagging. He has met many other dogs in foster and greeted them politely and playfully. Stuart could live as an only dog in the right circumstances or with doggy friends. Stuart currently walks on a flat collar and lead but is very strong and excited to walk, so will need a firm and able handler. Priority will be given to adopters who are either local to us (to return to our vet for his stitches to be removed) or prepared to travel back to see our vet in the next week. We will also consider anyone who is already registered with a vet and their vet is happy to remove on our behalf. Stuart is big tall boy who weighs 26Kg. We did not have any vaccination history for Stuart so have restarted them and a second will be due by your own vet in the next 2-4 weeks
Colour – charcoal grey
Microchip number and company – Stuart is chipped and the new owner will be registered
Known medical conditions – none
Neutered – Stuart is very recently castrated and his stitches will need removing
Good with cats – Not tested
Good with kids – We don’t routinely rehome with young children (under 16) as most of the dogs who come to us have health or behavioural issues. We will rehome with children if the dog is a puppy. Stuart is big, strong and bouncy and would potentially knock over young children.
Travelling in the car – travels fine in a car
Housetrained – Stuart will need reminding in his new home but is clean in his crate
Lead walking – Stuart walks on a lead and needs teaching some manners as he is very excited to walk
Recall – Not tested
Crate trained – yes
Current diet – twice a day; no observed allergies
A video home check and £650 adoption fee will apply
