Emma the Shih tzu – Poodle
Emma is a black female Shih tzu Poodle cross. Her mum was a Shih tzu and her dad was a toy poodle, so she is small in size. Emma has a lovely soft wavy coat which will require regular professional grooming. Emma is a sad surrender from a loving family home as they felt that they were unable to meet her needs. Emma is almost two years old and is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and upto date with her flea and worm treatment. Emma is very lively and loves to play with toys, she was previously an only dog but is currently in foster with numerous small dogs and has settled there well. Emma has a lot of energy but doesn’t always respect the older dog’s boundaries and will pester a lot to play, which isn’t always appreciated. She will need a young playful friend who will match her energy levels. Emma has a sassy side and likes to get her own way. She will need a firm confident owner who won’t let her rule the roost but will reward them with lots of love, cuddles and loyalty.
Colour – black
Microchip number and company – known and will update to the new adopter
Known medical conditions – Emma has mild, hind leg, hip dysplasia on her left side. This has been vet checked and x-rayed by her previous owners and requires no treatment. Her new owner should be mindful that this is a pre-existing condition and would not be covered by insurance. With this in mind her weight should be kept low and her exercise levels monitored to ensure she is not over walked. Emma also has an undershot jaw which is very typical of the shih tzu breed. This causes her no problems but she does have some crowding of her lower teeth.
